Ocean Springs School District Selects ImageNow

Perceptive Software’s hosted deployment option helps secure vital data for school district located in the Mississippi Gulf Coast, a region prone to natural disasters.

SHAWNEE, KANSAS — (14 Aug 2008) Perceptive Software, creator of ImageNow enterprise document management, imaging and workflow software, today announced Ocean Springs School District has selected ImageNow for initial implementation in the purchasing and accounts payable departments.

Located in Ocean Springs, Miss., the district serves more than 5,600 students at seven schools. Ocean Springs, a community of approximately 18,000 people, is located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Following Hurricane Katrina, Ocean Springs School District wanted to ensure the safety and security of its data in the event of another natural disaster. To address those concerns, the district selected Perceptive Software’s enterprise document management suite, ImageNow, and chose the company’s hosted deployment option.

Perceptive Software’s hosted deployment option was designed for clients who prefer to have Perceptive Software host, manage and operate their central ImageNow application environment and the associated infrastructure. The ImageNow data center that hosts the application is SAS 70-compliant, and includes a full range of connectivity and configuration options.

Purchasing ImageNow with the hosted deployment option enables the district to focus its resources on day-to-day business processes, allowing the district to implement ImageNow with minimal effort from internal technical resources. A team at Perceptive Software will host and manage every stage of the project based upon the requirements outlined by Ocean Springs School District.

“Ocean Springs School District is acutely aware of the threat that lost data can present in the case of a natural disaster,” said Donna Nester, Ocean Springs School District business manager. “The hosted option with ImageNow was a perfect fit for our disaster recovery and preparedness plan,” Nester added.

The district will initially deploy ImageNow to improve productivity and eliminate manual processing in purchasing and accounts payable, departments that manage thousands of paper documents. Perceptive Software will utilize its patented LearnModeTM integration technology to seamlessly integrate ImageNow with the district’s existing business applications. Following the implementation of ImageNow in the purchasing and accounts payable departments, the district will expand ImageNow to its human resources and payroll departments and ultimately plans to utilize the solution in several areas within its business office.
